Steve Austin Mitchell was booked into the Kaufman County Jail on February 3, 2015, at 2:43 a.m. He was arrested by the Forney Police Department and charged with aggravated assault of a date, family, or house member with a weapon. Bond is set at $250,000. Mitchell is described as a white male, date of birth January 9, 1962, with blue eyes and blond hair, standing 6′ 2″ tall and weighing 182 pounds.
Mitchell was arrested on February 1, 2015, following a report of a stabbing of a male victim on Warbler Drive in Forney. Mitchell fled the scene prior to the arrival of Forney PD but was later apprehended by the Dallas Police Department in Balch Springs and subsequently released to Forney PD. After the stabbing, Forney PD checked several locations where Mitchell may have been heading including a location in Summerhaven, another on Freedom Trail, and a location in Mesquite was also listed as a possibility. A person at the location of the stabbing also informed Forney PD there was an i-pad or similar device in the vehicle Mitchell was driving which could be tracked.
Several days prior to this incident, on January 25, 2015, at 1:25 a.m., Mitchell was arrested by Forney PD for public intoxication following a report of a fight, also on Warbler Drive.
