Quincy Deshae Smith was booked into the Kaufman County Jail on September 27, 2014, at 9:27 a.m. He was arrested by the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Department and charged with: abandoning or endangering a child criminal negligence, bond is set at $25,000; unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, bond is set at $25,000; and tampering with identification numbers, bond is set at $5000. Smith is described as a black male, date of birth April 17, 1993, with brown eyes and black hair, standing 5′ 7″ tall and weighing 140 pounds.
Kaufman County court records indicate Smith was charged with resisting arrest, search, or transport in a case filed on August 10, 2010, stemming from an incident on June 2, 2010. That case was dismissed on June 30, 2011.
Smith was next charged with burglary of a vehicle on March 22, 2011, from an incident on September 10, 2010. He was placed on probation which was subsequently revoked on May 17, 2013, and he was sentenced to 60 days in jail. On the same date, he was convicted of possession of marijuana under 2 ounces in a drug free zone and was also sentenced to 60 days in jail.
Also on the same date, Smith was sentenced to 180 days confinement in a state jail facility for the offenses of: possession of marijuana in an amount of 4 ounces or more but less than 5 pounds in a drug free zone; possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 3 under 28 grams in a drug free zone; and evading arrest or detention with a vehicle.
He has now graduated to allegedly endangering children and possessing firearms. When is enough enough?
