Joseph Kolt Palmer was booked into the Kaufman County Jail on September 20, 2016, at 7:41 p.m. He was arrested by the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Department on an out of state charge of engaging in sexual communication with a minor by use of technology. Bond is set at $10,000. Palmer is described as a white male, date of birth June 16, 1989, with blue eyes and brown hair, standing 6’ tall and weighing 190 pounds.
According to KFOR in Oklahoma City, Palmer left Oklahoma after being fired from the high school where he taught after engaging in “flirtatious behavior with some of the female students.” Palmer was subsequently charged with the current felony offense. Palmer later applied for employment at Kemp Independent School District. A background check conducted by Kemp ISD turned up clean and Palmer was hired as a junior high physical education teacher.
