Tracy Benson Ledbetter was booked into the Kaufman County Jail on December 23, 2014, at 7:12 p.m. He was arrested by the Forney Police Department and charged with: failure to identify as a fugitive intentionally giving false information, bond set at $7500; forgery of a government or national instrument, money, or security, bond set at $25,000; fraudulent use or possession of identifying information, number of items between 5 and 10, bond set at $25,000. Ledbetter also has holds for: Collin County Sheriff’s Office, with bonds set $5000, $7000, and two at $500 each; Lindale PD with bonds set at $10,000 and $500; and Tyler PD with bonds set at $300,000, $100,000, three at $19,100, and one at $5,000. Ledbetter is described as a white male, date of birth July 27, 1973, with green eyes and brown hair, standing 5’ 10” tall and weighing 210 pounds.
The two larger holds out of Collin County apparently stem from bond forfeiture warrants which were issued for failing to appear on felony charges of unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon on October 24, 2014, and forgery of a financial instrument on December 17, 2014.
As for the Smith County holds (Tyler PD and Lindale PD), that is more confusing. The only cases in Smith County are disposed and come from 2008: fraudulent use or possession of identifying information less than 5 items; possession of a prohibited weapon, switchblade or knuckles; and burglary of a vehicle. There are no filed, pending charges in Smith County.
However, several articles from 2008 link Ledbetter to the Texas Aryan Brotherhood and mention a murder several members were accused of committing but it does not appear he ever faced charges for that murder.
