Maria Louis Ruggiero was booked into the Kaufman County Jail on April 2, 2015, at 6:44 p.m. Ruggiero was arrested by the Terrell Police Department and charged with: manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 in an amount of 4 grams or more but less than 200 grams, bond set at $150,000; unlawful carrying of a weapon, bond set at $25,000; and two charges of possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 3 in an amount of less than 28 grams, bond set at $25,000 on each charge. Ruggiero is described as a white female (originally listed as “male”), date of birth November 7, 1980, with hazel eyes and blond hair, standing 5’ 8” tall and weighing 270 pounds.
Ruggiero was arrested by Terrell PD following a traffic stop. Ruggiero reportedly refused to consent to a vehicle search. Drug sniffing canines were subsequently requested which “alerted” to drugs in the vehicle and provided the basis for probable cause to search the vehicle.
No prior criminal history could be found for Ruggiero in Kaufman County.
