Dennis Darnell Harris was booked into the Kaufman County Jail on June 1, 2016, at 2:29 p.m. He was arrested by the Forney Police Department on a charge of driving while intoxicated. Bond is set at $1,500. Harris is described as a black male, date of birth September 2, 1976, with green eyes and brown hair, standing 6’ tall and weighing 187 pounds.
Harris was arrested by Forney PD on Memorial Day after he crashed into a Forney fire truck on eastbound Highway 80 which was in the process of extinguishing a car fire near Spur 557. A Department of Public Safety officer was quoted as saying witnesses noticed Harris driving erratically prior to the crash. Harris was subsequently transported to Lake Pointe Hospital for a blood draw. No firefighters or other emergency personnel were injured.
Harris has previously been convicted in Kaufman County for the offense of assault causing bodily injury, criminal mischief $500-$1500, and criminal trespass.
