Anthony Jason Rendine was booked into the Kaufman County Jail on October 13, 2015, at 10:05 p.m. He was arrested by the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Department on five charges of burglary of a building. Bond is set at $100,000 on each charge. Rendine is described as a white male, date of birth February 2, 1973, with brown eyes and brown hair, standing 6′ 2″ tall and weighing 225 pounds.
Bond amounts for burglary of a building usually average around $5000. However, this person was apparently an ancillary player in some convoluted murder for hire / blackmail scheme out of Denton County.
According to the Denton Record-Chronicle, testimony at the trial of Frank Howard, the person charged with hiring someone to kill his wife Nancy at their Carrollton home in 2012, indicated Rendine and his wife were charged with solicitation to commit capital murder and were released on a personal recognizance bond. However, no charges are currently pending against Rendine in Denton County at this time. He does have a prior conviction for theft of property, $1500-$20000. Rendine entered a plea of guilty to that charge on October 8, 2015, and was sentenced to 300 days in state jail but was given credit for 413 days already served.
In Dallas County, Rendine has convictions for attempted burglary of a vehicle, failure to identify as a fugitive, tampering with government records, and felony convictions for burglary of a building and possession of a controlled substance.
The facts behind the current charges of burglary of a building and what, if any, ties Rendine has to Kaufman County are not known.
