Dustin Lee Freeman was booked into the Rockwall County Jail on October 3, 2014, at 8:51 a.m. He was arrested by the Rockwall County Sheriff’s Department and charged by the Rockwall Police Department with driving while intoxicated 3rd or more. Bond is set at $25,000. Freeman is described as a white male, 29 years of age, with brown eyes and brown hair, standing 5′ 9″ tall and weighing 170 pounds.
Freeman has a rather lengthy history of driving while intoxicated charges in Rockwall County. He first received probation for a dwi on May 3, 2007. Freeman was then charged with dwi/2nd in a case filed on February 15, 2012. However, that case was subsequently dismissed following his conviction for the reduced charge of dwi on July 5, 2012, where he again received probation.
Also, on July 5, 2012, a charge of obstructing a highway or passageway (frequently used as a substitute for a dwi charge if there is a problem with the case, etc) was filed against Freeman. On the same day, Freeman received 24 months deferred adjudication probation, a fine of $500, and 50 hours of community service in that case.
Freeman was also charged with assault causing bodily injury to a family member which was subsequently dismissed, also on July 5, 2012.
Freeman was again arrested on August 1, 2014, and again charged with dwi/2nd along with other charges. That case was dismissed on October 3, 2014, possibly due to his indictment and arrest on the current charges of dwi/3rd.
His Facebook page indicates he is from Rockwall and attended Rockwall HS but lives in Austin. He lists his employer as Heavy Iron Construction which shows to be based in Dallas. He also deleted a post on his Facebook page about attending a happy hour in Rockwall the night of his arrest in August.
