Robert Lee Arney arrested by Kaufman County Sheriff’s Department

Robert Lee ArneyRobert Lee Arney was booked into the Kaufman County Jail on October 3, 2014, at 9:06 p.m. He was arrested by the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Department and charged by the Kaufman County District Attorney’s Office to serve a sentence imposed. There is no bond. Arney is described as a white male, date of birth February 22, 1987, with green eyes and brown hair, standing 6’ 2” tall and weighing 220 pounds.

Arney was previously charged in Kaufman County in cases filed on August 23, 2013, with intoxicated manslaughter with a vehicle, two charges of intoxicated assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury, and manslaughter. Those charges were all dismissed on August 14, 2014.

On the same day, subsequent charges of manslaughter, and two charges of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury were filed and Arney entered pleas of guilty to all three charges. Arney was then sentenced to 10 years deferred adjudication probation, a fine of $5000, and 120 hours of community service in each case. While the online docket entries do not reflect it, apparently he was also sentenced to serve an unknown amount of time in jail as a condition of that probation which may be what led to his current confinement.

If Arney is able to successfully fulfill the terms and conditions of his probation, all three cases will be eligible for dismissal following his release from probation. If he fails to fulfill the terms and conditions of his probation, the judge may proceed with adjudication of his guilt in these cases and sentence him to anything within the range of punishment for a second degree felony.

Arney has no other criminal record in Kaufman County.
