Kent Solomon Johnson arrested by Kaufman County Sheriff’s Department

Kent Solomon JohnsonKent Solomon Johnson was booked into the Kaufman County Jail on August 14, 2015, at 7:57 a.m. He was arrested by the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Department on two charges of burglary of a habitation. Bond is set at $75,000 on each charge. Johnson is described as a black male, date of birth October 18, 1996, with black eyes and black hair, standing 5′ 10″ tall and weighing 160 pounds.

At approximately 3:20 pm on Thursday, August 13, 2015, Forney PD received a report from a homeowner that a male suspect burglarized their garage on Carl C Senter, stole some specific lawn and garden equipment, and fled in a black Kia Soul. A few minutes after Forney PD began searching the area for a vehicle matching the description, KSO advised they were detaining a subject and vehicle in Travis Ranch which matched the description of the vehicle and the burglary suspect.

Just prior to the Forney burglary report, two residents of Travis Ranch reported similar burglaries and thefts of lawn and garden equipment to KSO. Residents of Travis Ranch were also made aware of the vehicle and suspect description and began searching the Travis Ranch area for a vehicle matching that description.

Following the Forney burglary, residents of Travis Ranch subsequently located Johnson and the black Kia Soul after he returned to Travis Ranch. A KSO officer, who was taking a statement from a previous victim, was notified and arrived on scene to take Johnson into custody. Numerous pieces of lawn and garden equipment were located inside the Kia Soul and victims were asked to come to the scene to identify the suspect and retrieve their property.

This is an on-going investigation.
