Tommy Upshaw was booked into the Kaufman County Jail on April 7, 2018, at 6:41 a.m. He was arrested by the Precinct 2 Constable’s Office Forney on charges of: evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, bond set at $7,500 and evading arrest or detention, bond set at $3,500. Upshaw is described as a black male, date of birth March 25, 2000, with brown eyes and black hair, standing 5’ 5” tall and weighing 127 pounds.
Upshaw was arrested on April 6, 2018, following a vehicle pursuit through Windmill Farms where speeds reached between 80 and 100 miles per hour after he reportedly fled from a traffic stop. He eventually wrecked his vehicle on Single Tree Drive and fled on foot from the Kaufman County Precinct 2 deputy.
According to the Constable, Upshaw fled into a residence and asked occupants to hide him. Upshaw was subsequently held by residents until the Constable arrived on scene and was then taken into custody prior to being transported to Baylor Scott and White in Sunnyvale for minor injuries.
No prior criminal record could be located for Upshaw.
